About us

At The Chocolate Shed we do things a little bit different...
... not only are all our workshops themselves delicious, sticky- fingered, chocolate-y fun...
... but we hope to inspire guests to continue their own journeys of chocolate adventure at home.

We are passionate about using readily available, local ingredients; sourcing ethically and environmentally; and sharing our chocolate knowledge.

Our passion for the craft of chocolate-making is infectious...
Over ten years ago, Sally- the owner and founder of The Chocolate Shed- stumbled across the craft of making chocolate.  Since then she never looked back- what started as a kitchen table hobby soon became a career and Henley Chocolates was founded.

Sally’s passion for the craft of chocolate making is infectious and, in 2018, she founded The Chocolate Shed with the aim of sharing this fun far and wide.  Today, Tracy - a local Mum with experience in event hospitality - manages The Chocolate Shed (alongside Sally) and our team of skilled chocolatiers and party hosts/hostesses has grown to more than five.
It fills us with joy everytime we host an event, to see the happy, smiling (often chocolate-rimmed) faces leaving at the end; youngsters running to their parents to proudly show off their masterpieces; and adults discussing future flavours of chocolate truffle they now intend to make at home.

THE chocolate experience doesn't stop at the door...
We use readily available kitchen equipment and ingredients.  We believe that a home chocolate making hobby should be accessible to all- it needn’t involve heavy financial investment. With a simple saucepan and hob or microwave it is possible to expertly temper delicious chocolate: perhaps to craft unique cupcake toppers or to embellish delicious show-stopping desserts.
We love showing guests how to craft stunning chocolate truffles from household ingredients- back of the cupboard staples such as cocoa powder and sugar are ideal for adding beautiful finishing touches, while it is possible to create the most amazing flavours using readily available liquors, nuts, dried fruit and items from the baking aisle of any grocery store.

During our workshops interested guests are always welcome to seek chocolate-support from our staff.

Sustainable fun...
Located in rural Warwickshire, The Chocolate Shed is surrounded by beautiful countryside, about which we care passionately.  The event & hospitality industry often has a bad press when it comes to its environmental footprint, but at The Chocolate Shed we believe it is possible to host amazing parties and celebrations without the waste and long term damage to our beautiful planet.

To mention just a few of the steps we take:
  • The heating for our unit is centrally provided by a wood chip boiler at Yew Tree Farm Shopping Village.  The timber itself is sourced sustainably from Austy Wood next door (famed for its stunning bluebells in spring).
  • The delicious, high quality chocolate used during our workshops is sourced ethically and is grown by cocoa farmers who benefit from the Cocoa Horizons program.
  • Guests take home their chocolate masterpieces in plant (rather than plastic) packaging.
  • Where possible we do not employ single-use, disposable equipment.
  • The party food menu provided by onsite caterers has been carefully designed to minimise waste.
