Taste, design, decorate and create wonderful, unique, yummy chocolates certain to impress!
The chocolate fun!
The Choc-tastic! party workshop has been designed specifically with teens in mind. It encompasses all the chocolate-fun included in a Bespoke Bars! party but with an extra 30 minutes of added chocolate-y fun!
As well as designing, making and packaging four of their ultimate dream chocolate bars, our teen guests will also have a go at hand piping chocolate to create two lollipops each.
Participants may even have the chance to make some additional chocolatey creations - time permitting. Yes, more chocolate to take home and (*ahem) share....
For those guests with an interest in chocolate making, our chocolate party host(ess) is more than willing to explain the key skills involved during the workshop - chocolate tempering, moulding, decorating and piping - or answer any questions the budding young chocolatiers may have.
Where possible*, we can adapt this package to the interests of the participants - just ask us more on booking. In the past teens have made moulded seasonal shapes, chocolate cups or chocolate flowers and lollipops (rather than bars and lollipops). *advance notice required to ensure we have suitable ingredients and staffing.
Also included in every party!
....personalised to the interests of the birthday teen and includes:
The main chocolate making activity.
THE chocolate tasting game.
A paper bag for each guest containing their chocolate creations and chocolate quiz and facts sheets.
Soft drinks (tea, coffee, squash or water) and nibbles for each guest (chocolate making is thirsty work!)
Our birthday party invitation template is also available on request. The Chocolate Shed believes in real, sustainable fun. For this reason we seek to minimise single use plastic and waste at all of our events and source our ingredients responsibly. You can read more here.
Our teen workshops are filled with chocolate giggles!
Extending the party by 30 minutes in order to enjoy a birthday lunch/tea is always a winner! You can can either:
Bring your own food (or arrange a pizza delivery!) for the young people to munch on after making their chocolates. Our staff are also on hand to help, and of course will do all the clearing away and washing up for you! OR
We can provide locally handmade party food for the teens to tuck into. All of our party food options will be made fresh on the day by our local onsite providers. A typical party menu includes a range of sandwiches, a selection of crisps, savoury finger food (sausage roll, Lashford's sausages or vegetarian options), fresh fruit and fun chocolate shapes from Henley Chocolates.
Alternatively, we recommend booking a table at The Cowshed cafe onsite or the short trip into Henley in Arden or Stratford upon Avon where there are a range of restaurants and eateries.
For bespoke home baked birthday cakes we highly recommend the work of Martina at Belles Cakery in the village. Martina will work with you to create the cake of your son or daugher's dreams and can be contacted here or through our booking form.
After every party and event we welcome any of those who participated for feedback. This is extremely valuable to us and we often tweak our workshops accordingly to make them even more perfect (if that is possible!). Please read on for recent reviews. "I just wanted to write to thank you and your team for a fantastic birthday party for S today. She and her friends had a great time!"
"Please thank your staff my girls had a fantastic time..."
"Thanks so much, we had a wonderful afternoon, and B and her friends loved the chocolate session. We have previously done small parties at home, so having a party elsewhere was a new experience for us, but you have made it so straight forward and I really appreciated you taking the time to answer all my questions on the phone at the start of the booking process. The information on the website was fantastic - and it was really useful to see all the options and prices there before I called up."
"Everyone had a great time! [...] I’ll be sure to recommend the chocolate shed and may very well be in touch for some future events."
"I sent my 11 and 13 year olds to a workshop here today which they described as ‘absolutely amazing’ and ‘really cool’ (praise indeed from a 13 year old lad). They’re both delighted with their creations (which taste wonderful) and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. We will definitely be back. Many thanks again!"
"Fabulous place for childrens' parties. So many said 'best party they've been to' so glad we tried it first!"
What will the young people make during the party? During a Choc-tastic! chocolate party each guest will design and create a minimum four totally unique and special chocolate bars as well as two hand piped lollipops to be taken home and enjoyed. Participants will use a range of chocolate skills during the workshop - tempering, decorating, piping and moulding. For those with an interest in chocolate making we are more than happy to explain these processes during the workshop to enable guests to replicate their yummy chocolates at home. In all our workshops (both for children and adults) we use readily available equipment and ingredients.
Can parents of the teens attending stay and watch their children? Due to space limitations we request that extra people (adults or children) do not attend just to watch unless a space has been reserved for them. Often the parents opt to stay at Yew Tree Farm, have a cuppa and chat in The Cowshed Cafe (located on the opposite side of the courtyard to The Chocolate Shed) or browse the lovely array of independent shops and businesses onsite.
What age range is this party package suitable for? The Choc-tastic! chocolate making party is ideal for young people aged 10 years and over. The activities tend to be a little tricky for children, for whom we recommend one of our children's party packages. The Choc-tastic! workshop package is also ideal for chocolate-loving adults, family groups and small hen parties.
One of our group is allergic to .... Unless requested in advance, all participants will be using milk and/or white chocolate. We can accommodate most special dietary requirements but will need at least a weeks notice to ensure suitable alternative ingredients are available. If you have any concerns please contact us prior to booking. You can also find out more about The Chocolate Shed's Health & Safety policy (which includes allergen management) here.
Do the teens need to bring anything with them? No, everything will be provided on the day, including an apron. We do recommend however that they don't wear their finest clothes, just in case there is a spillage. The young people will also be using our specialist cocoa butter paint (for decorating the chocolate bars) during the party.
Can I visit The Chocolate Shed to look round before booking? Of course, you are more than welcome to visit us! However, outside of workshop times The Chocolate Shed is typically shut and so contact us before making the journey. Also note that for safeguarding purposes, we do not permit anyone other than the parents of children attending an event into our workshop space while an event is going on. Often parents opt to attend one of our school holiday workshops before booking a birthday party.
What time of day do you host parties? At weekends we typically have three slots per day available on a first-come-first-served basis (they do get booked up quite far in advance though). These are for events starting at 10:00, 14:00 and 17:30. On occasion, we may be able to accommodate a teen party in the evening after school - this depends on staff availability. It is always worth asking when you book!
Can I come earlier and decorate the room? You are more than welcome to bring extra birthday decorations but please be advised that in the 30 minutes before your child's party starts our staff will be busy setting up and preparing. We tend to ask that parents of the birthday child arrive no more than 20 minutes before the party is due to start and that other guests arrive no more than 10 minutes early.
I'm bringing my own party food. Can I use your fridge? The Chocolate Shed fridge has a very important role in all our events: it is essential for cooling chocolate masterpieces so they can safely go home with their creators. We will do our best to make space available for your party food but this is at the discretion of The Chocolate Shed party host(ess) and depends on the size of your event.
What is in the party bag? Our special 'The Chocolate Shed' party bags contain a pot of fun chocolate shapes (from Henley Chocolates), a special 'The Chocolate Shed' activity sheet, a fun family-friendly, chocolate recipe card and an eco-ball point pen! This is all in addition to the chocolate masterpieces (inside a paper bag) which every teen will take home with them as standard after a Choc-tastic! party. In the bag will also be a chocolate themed activity (quiz and facts sheet), if there is not time to do this during the party itself. Many parents opt to add a slice of birthday cake to the bag.
I'd like a Chocolate Shed party close to where I live. Sadly we are unable to host this workshop off-site as the specialist fridge in our venue is essential for ensuring the chocolate bars set correctly. We may be able to adapt the Choc-tastic! party package (to encompass moulding chocolate seasonal shapes rather than bars) to suite your needs. Ask us more on booking but you may also wish to have a look at our Chocolate Shed in a Box kit which includes everything you need to host a teen chocolate party at home.
I'm not sure how many guests will be able to attend yet. It is relatively easy for us to add or reduce the numbers attending your party and adjust your invoice accordingly. If unsure, we recommend making a booking based on our minimum numbers (6 for Choc-tastic!) and letting us know 14-7 days before the event if more children are attending. Read here for more details.
What happens next? After completing our birthday party booking/inquiry form, one of our team will be in touch to confirm possible dates and times with you and answer any outstanding questions you may have. This person will be your point of reference throughout the booking and you can contact them by email at any time. Once you are happy, we ask for a 25% deposit to be paid to secure your booking; the remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your event. Full terms and conditions can be found here. After your booking is confirmed we will send you our health and safety form. We ask that the adult responsible for all those attending your event to complete this form. This is just to ensure that our staff are aware of any relevant medical conditions and allergies so that your session is safe as well as fun.
