Immerse yourself in the world of chocolate with this voyage of chocolate discovery.
Working with the highest quality of sustainably sourced chocolate couverture you will enjoy the tastes, scents and textures of different types and origins of chocolate and go home with enough knowledge to continue your chocolate adventures in your own kitchens. Obviously all chocolates created during these workshops will be taken home to share with family and friends.
This workshop is the second in a series of three, each graded with increasing skill development. We recommend most people attend a Level one chocolate making skills workshop with us before progressing to Levels two and three. Each workshop builds on the knowledge and skills taught in the previous level but no prior knowledge is assumed for level one.
Level one (book your place here)
The level one workshop covers a variety of tempering techniques, basic moulding and piping skills and an introduction to the equipment and ingredients needed for chocolate making.
Level two (this workshop)
The level two workshop applies the tempering skills acquired in level one to more advanced chocolate work, use of inclusions and decor ingredients, the uses and limitations of different types of moulds, flavouring solid chocolate and some decoration techniques.
Level three (book your place here)
The level three workshop covers higher level skills including advanced moulding techniques to create hollow shapes and shells, advanced decoration techniques and ganache creation.
All sessions will start with a brief chat about participants chocolate making experiences and goals and set out a plan for the workshop including a forum for questions for our team of chocolatiers. There will be lots of opportunities along the way to sample, taste and share ideas.
What will I create?
The exact nature of the chocolates made during this workshop will differ from session to session but you will definitely come away with an array of delicious chocolate-y creations made by your own fair hand, to share with family and friends (if you can bare to share!)

Do we need to bring anything with us?
No, everything (tutition and materials) will be provided on the day, including an apron. We do recommend however that you don't wear your finest clothes, just in case there is a spillage.
Soft drinks (tea, coffee, squash, water) are available on request, but feel free to bring any other beverage/food to enjoy during the workshop.
Can you recommend a place to have lunch/dinner before/after the workshop?
Why not make a day of your visit to The Chocolate Shed? We are located in a beautiful part of the Warwickshire countryside. At Yew Tree Farm Shopping Village there is a lovely array of independent shops and businesses, including The Cowshed cafe (open for lunch) and Yew Tree Farm Shop (excellent take-aways and snacks). Alternatively we recommend The Navigation Inn or Bull's Head in Wootton Wawen or the short trip to either Henley in Arden or Stratford upon Avon, where there is a wide choice of excellent restaurants.

Unless requested in advance, all participants will be using milk and white chocolate and creating cream-based ganache (where appropriate- ganache may/may not be taught in this workshop). We can accommodate most special dietary requirements but will need at least a weeks notice to ensure suitable alternative ingredients are available. (For example, if we know in advance, dark chocolate and a oat-based-cream substitute can be provided for those on lactose-free or vegan diets.)
Please note, all our chocolate contains SOY lecithin- a key ingredient which helps impart its smooth, melt-in-the-mouth flavour and texture.
If you have any concerns please contact us prior to booking.
Can a friend/partner come along and watch?
The price is inclusive of one person. Due to space limitations we request that only those for whom a space has been reserved attend.
What happens next?
After booking, one of our team will be in touch before your workshop with a health and safety form for the attendees to complete. This is just to ensure that our staff are aware of any allergies or relevant medical conditions so that the session is safe as well as lots of fun!
