Immerse yourself in all things 'chocolate' exactly a fortnight before Christmas Eve!
During this session you will create your own Christmas chocs to take home and enjoy. In previous years guests have made and decorated Christmas table/tree chocolates, festive chocolate cake collars, designer chocolate bars for Santa and other treats. Come along to find out what we will be crafting this time!
Suitable for all ages and abilities (from teens upwards).
(And, yes, bring a bottle of bubbly if you wish :-) )

Reindeer antlers optional!
This fun-filled festive workshop will include a brief introduction to the world of chocolate crafting, as well as full instruction and materials to make a selection of professional looking chocolates to take home and enjoy with family and friends. Skills covered and exact content varies, but range from chocolate tempering and moulding to hand piping and maybe even making chocolate cake wrappers or Christmas decorations. We aim to provide our workshop guests with enough knowledge for them to be able to try their hand at chocolate making at home using regular kitchen equipment.
What will I create?
Every Christmas chocolate making workshop is different and the exact content is kept secretly guarded until the day, to add to the fun! In past years we have made Christmas tree decorations, Christmas lollipops, chocolate cake wrappers, seasonal chocolate cups, hand moulded festive chocolate cake toppers and more... What will you make in 2023? Come along to find out!
What chocolate making skills are covered?
The skills covered in this workshop vary from year to year and range from chocolate tempering, moulding, hand piping, decorating, chocolate collars for cakes and desserts and more...
We hope that with the knowledge and experience gained during the workshop you will be able to recreate or continue your chocolate-making journey at home with readily available ingredients and kitchen equipment.
Do we need to bring anything with us?
No, everything (tutition and materials) will be provided on the day, including an apron. We do recommend however that you don't wear your finest clothes, just in case there is a spillage.
Soft drinks (tea, coffee, squash, water) are available on request, but feel free to bring a bottle along (or any other beverage/food) to enjoy during the workshop (you may also wish to bring your own glasses if you do as we are only able to provide plastic tumblers as glass is not permitted in the back kitchen area of our workshop).
Can you recommend a place to have lunch/dinner before/after the workshop?
Why not make a day of your visit to The Chocolate Shed? We are located in a beautiful part of the Warwickshire countryside. At Yew Tree Farm Shopping Village there is a lovely array of independent shops and businesses, including The Cowshed cafe (open for lunch) and Yew Tree Farm Shop (excellent take-aways and snacks). Alternatively we recommend The Navigation Inn or Bull's Head in Wootton Wawen or the short trip to either Henley in Arden or Stratford upon Avon, where there is a wide choice of excellent restaurants.

Unless requested in advance, all participants will be using milk and white chocolate. We can accommodate most special dietary requirements but will need at least a weeks notice to ensure suitable alternative ingredients are available. (For example, if we know in advance, dark chocolate can be provided for those on lactose-free or vegan diets.)
Please note, all our chocolate contains SOY lecithin- a key ingredient which helps impart its smooth, melt-in-the-mouth flavour and texture.
If you have any concerns please contact us prior to booking.
Can a friend/partner come along and watch?
The price is inclusive of one person. Due to space limitations we request that only those for whom a space has been reserved attend.
What age range is this suitable for?
All ages are welcome to attend the workshop, although we find that children need to be aged 8 and above to get the most out of the session. We also request that those aged 8-16 are accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the session.
What happens next?
After booking, one of our team will be in touch before your workshop with a health and safety form for the attendees to complete. This is just to ensure that our staff are aware of any allergies or relevant medical conditions so that the session is safe as well as lots of fun!
We reserve the right to cancel workshops at short notice (at least 7 days notice will be given) should the minimum required attendees not be reached. Purchased tickets can be transferred to alternate events or refunded should a suitable alternative event not be found.
