Customer data protection

The Chocolate Shed has a comprehensive policy for requesting and looking after our customer's personal data in accordance with GDPR legislation.

A summary of our full data protection policy is given below.

We require the full contact details of the person making a workshop/event booking to enable us to communicate effectively with the party organiser, disseminate Health and Safety consent forms and provide customer support.

For each workshop participant we require a signed copy of our Health and Safety consent form (signed by parent or guardian for those under 18 years).  This needs to inform us of any relevant allergies or medical conditions.  It is also a statement of acknowledgement that the individual has had no recent illness (as defined by our Health and safety terms). 

We will only share relevant information to the third parties providing the services to your event that you requested (for example, if you request party food then we will communicate the food order and any dietary needs to our caters).

We only retain necessary information after your event.  Specifically, the signed copy of our Health and Safety form is kept as evidence of consent.  Legally we are required to keep these for 6 years (in the case of adults) or 6 years after a child guest turns 18 (for those under 18 at the time of the event).

Signed and dated forms will be kept securely and shredded when their period of retention has been reached.  Electronic copies of these forms and other electronic data are stored only by relevant staff on their secure company internet accounts.  Data will be removed when it is no longer needed.

Only those customers who opt to, will receive our marketing newsletter.  Consent for this purpose is gained only through the newsletter sign up form on this website or the opt in statement on our Health and Safety forms.

Customers can opt out of this newsletter at any time.
