Family fun!

Bespoke workshops for family (up to 2 adults & 3 children) to have sticky-fingered, chocolate-y fun together.
There's nothing more precious than quality family time and what can be more fun than getting messy, creating your own delicious chocolate-y treats to take home and enjoy? 

​Especially when you don't need to worry about the cleaning up afterwards :-) 

*Family workshops must include at least one participant over 16 within the total of up to 5 guests.
During your 75 minutes of chocolate-y fun, each member of your family will create a decorative chocolate pizza/slab AND a hand piped lollipop or two!

​For those who have not visited us before, this family workshop can be a brief introduction to chocolate making, while for those who may have attended a workshop or party with us, we can personalise your session to an activity of your choice.  Just let us know your interests when enquiring about a booking using the form below!

All activities will have a theme (popular themes have been seasonal (Christmas/Easter/Halloween/summer), an oasis of tropical paradise, fantasy unicorn kingdoms, dinosaur adventures, building block mayhem, wildlife nature reserves, farmyard visits, tranquil gardens...) and be filled with chocolate deliciousness. 

Materials, tuition and aprons are included: no need to bring anything with you (although you are of course welcome to bring a drink/food to enjoy while you get creative!).
Everything made during the session you will be able to take home and enjoy (plus there's plenty of chances for nibbling along the way!) 
What theme will you choose? Please do feel free to proudly to share photos of your creations afterwards on social media for all to admire! 
Your creations will need time to set in our fridges after being carefully crafted by yourselves and so at the end of your workshop we will arrange a time for you to return and collect your delicious makes.  (Setting time takes approx 30 min.)

Why not make a day of your visit to The Chocolate Shed?  We are located in a beautiful part of the Warwickshire countryside.  At Yew Tree Farm Shopping Village there is a lovely array of independent shops and businesses, including The Cowshed cafe (open for lunch) and Yew Tree Farm Shop (excellent take-aways and snacks).  

Alternatively, grab a hot chocolate take-away from our sister business (Henley Chocolates) round the corner and take a stroll in the countryside.

Frequently asked questions

I'd love to give the gift of a family workshop.
Our family chocolate making workshops make ideal gifts for loved ones and friends.  We know it's difficult to book on behalf of another family, without giving the secret away and so why not get them a gift voucher?  Our gift vouchers are valid for 12 months and will enable the family you give them to to arrange a date and time for their event which works for them.

Can Grandma and Grandad stay and watch or can I bring extra friends along too?
The price of this workshop is inclusive of five people making chocolate together. Due to space limitations we request that extra people (adults or children) do not attend unless a space has been reserved for them.
However, we are flexible and so please make a note on the form above and we will see what we can do!  Remember Grandma and Grandad can also make chocolate, so why not book an event where they can join in and not just watch! Some of the most memorable events we have hosted over the years have included multiple generations all getting chocolate-y and having a laugh together.  If grandparents will take your group numbers above 5 then we can perhaps adapt one of our party packages for your event.

What age range is this suitable for?
Your family workshop will be tailored specially to the ages and interests of those in your group.  These sessions are designed for children (of any age from 2 1/2 to adults!) to make chocolate along side their familiar adults.  Thus we request that within your group of up to 5 participants there is at least one responsible adult aged over 18.
If you are interested in an event for children only, we recommend checking out our children's party options. 

One of our group is allergic to ....
Unless requested in advance, all participants will be using milk and/or white chocolate.  We can accommodate most special dietary requirements but will need at least a weeks notice to ensure suitable alternative ingredients are available. If you have any concerns please contact us prior to booking. 

Do we need to bring anything with us?
No, everything will be provided on the day, including an apron. We do recommend however that you don't wear your finest clothes, just in case there is a spillage.  We may also be using our specialist cocoa butter paint (for decorating chocolates).

What happens next?
After completing the form above, one of our team will be in touch to confirm possible dates and times with you, discuss themes and activities for your group and answer any outstanding questions you may have.
Once you are happy, we ask for a 25% deposit to be paid to secure your booking; the remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your event.  Full terms and conditions can be found here.
After your booking is confirmed we will send you a health and safety form for each participant (or the responsible adult to those under 16) to complete. This is just to ensure that our staff are aware of any relevant medical conditions and allergies so that your session is safe as well as fun.
